Guide to Estimating Cubic Footage
We ship the best tropical plants via LTL refrigerated truck lines all over the country. Here is a helpful guide to estimate the cubic footage for your order:
SLEEVED (LOOSE) PLANTS:
8” = 1 cube
10” = 2 cubes
14” = 5-8 cubes
17” = 8-10 cubes (if under 8’, if over need to cube out)
BOXED PLANTS:
3″ & 4” boxes = 2 cubes
6”, 8”, and 10” boxes = generally about 5 cubes
10” Cane (4’3’2’) boxes = 8.33 cubes
14” Cane boxes = 9.53 cubes
6” Guzmania boxes (6 Packs) = 3.75 cubes
SPECIMEN PLANTS:
To figure cubes for specimens:
Height in inches (from bottom of pot) times the spread in inches times the pot size.
Divide this number by 1728 to give you the cubes
Example:
21” Adonidia Palm 9-10’= 120” x 21” (not a wide spread) x 21” = 52,920
52,920 Divided by 1728 = 30.63 cubes
